Council candidates are going mobile
Trying to decide who to vote for in the upcoming election? There’s an app for that. This morning, Beacon Hill-Cyrville candidate Tim Tierney is launching a text-based app called Talk2Tim, developed by local tech firm Zim.
There will be several thousand fewer lawn signs decorating the Ottawa landscape during this fall’s municipal election. Incumbent Larry O’Brien and challenger Clive Doucet have decided that lawn sign money can be better spent.
Ottawa charity Serenity Renewal for Families received a blow last year. It lost about 50 percent of its operating budget and since then it’s been scrambling to find way to make up that shortfall.
