Goin' rogue: This year's CPAC is for the younger crowd

The Washington ExaminerWith video games, a performance by the trendy Gregory Brothers and even an iPhone app, this isn't your grandpa's CPAC.
This year's Conservative Political Action Conference, which kicks off Thursday at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, is paying a little more attention to the under-30 set, and doing it by holding a partner event called XPAC. (That's short for Xtreme Politically Active Conservatives, if you're wondering.)

CPAC: There's An App For That

TechrepublicanRaiseDigital is proud to sponsor the official iPhone application for CPAC 2010. In a partnership with PurpleForge, RaiseDigital has developed an iPhone application to allow attendees of the CPAC conference to stay up to date with the latest CPAC related photos, videos, news and events from the leading smartphone platform. The application is currently being reviewed by the iTunes store, and will be released before the conference.

Liberal vs. Conservatives on grassroots politics and social media

There is a talking point commonly heard in Ottawa that the political right provides a grassroots, populist approach to governing whereas the political left rules from a pedestal. It is for this reasons that comments such as Minister Clement's recent description of Canadians who express an interest in the prorogue as "elitist" come as no surprise. It is why Ignatieff's professorial demeanor (and background) are referenced in a derogatory manner, and why his global success is treated with false suspicion in Conservative talking points.
